An app born from a trip, a real frustration, and one clear obsession: knowing what you eat.
YumiScan was built for people who do not want to buy or eat blindly when their health, values, or lifestyle are on the line.
Where it started: Japan
I had dreamed of traveling to Japan since childhood. When I finally got to live that trip the way I had imagined it, I wanted to fully enjoy it: explore, shop, discover, and taste everything I could.
But every time I bought food, the same friction came back: I had to translate ingredients again and again. When you follow a strict diet, shopping quickly becomes stressful, slow, and frustrating.
Once I returned from Japan, the idea became obvious: build a tool that helps people understand food labels quickly, without improvising every single time.
Why YumiScan exists
YumiScan helps remove the frustration linked to diets, allergens, and personal food restrictions. The goal is not only to scan text, but to restore peace of mind when buying food.
Knowing what you eat means better protecting your health, respecting your moral choices, and avoiding risky or unnecessary mistakes.
The person behind the product
I am an Italian software engineer based in France. YumiScan came from a real-world problem first, then became a useful product designed for everyday life.
The ambition is simple: create a fast, reassuring and accessible experience for anyone who needs to verify what they consume before buying.
